Overview and Eligibility:

The AMS/NYU Travel Grant program is an Annual Meeting travel grant program specially designed to promote the attendance and presentation of NYU students at the AMS Annual Meeting. The American Musicological Society (AMS) is hosted by and headquartered at New York University, and this grant program is intended to strengthen ties between the Society and the NYU community. Annually, the program provides two (2) grants of $1500 to support the presentation and attendance of NYU music studies students at the Annual Meeting. This grant does not include a waiver of the Annual Meeting registration fee.

Grants are available to NYU students who are presenting papers or performances, as well as those who do not appear on the program. You are eligible to apply for an AMS/NYU Travel Grant even if you have received one in the past, but awards are given preferentially to those who have not received funding in the previous year. You are only eligible for one type of Annual Meeting travel support; if you receive another form of support, you will receive whichever is highest.

Notification and Use of Funds:

Applicants will receive a decision notification in early-mid August.
